Dear friends, readers,
I am going to be closing this blog in a week’s time because it makes no sense to keep 2 blogs going at the same time with similar subject matters. So if you are interested in keeping up with my photography and writing, please subscribe to my main blog: Mimokhairphotography where I post almost daily. Thank you for your great support during the last couple of years and moving on

Please check out also my Facebook page and my flickr photo stream for more images.

old woman from the "flower waist" Yi people, originally uploaded by ~mimo~away in Yunnan till 9/23 ✈✈.
I was invited to this woman’s home and her eyes told so many stories~ In the remote village of Mu Shan in the mountains of Yunnan.
Thank you all my blogging friends for commenting while I am away. I will catch up when I am back from this trip. It has been quite intense and very enlightening to be in these far away parts of China.

The Hani (an ethnic minority in Yunnan), literally means “fierce woman”. These amazing women are seen carrying incredibly large loads on their backs , working in construction of their homes, rice fields, and all kinds of hard labour. They have been a pleasure to get to know and to photograph. Most of them don’t know what to make of my camera ![]()
